I’m a Web consultant. I take a LOT of calls from small businesses and individuals who need to figure out how to find success online. Each business is different, with different needs and goals and personalities that run them. But there’s one thing they all have in common…
They all have a story.
And so do you. We all have stories to tell.
So what’s your story? You probably have one and don’t even know it. It’s your about page. Head on over to your about page and re-read it. Is it telling a story, or is it just spouting off facts about your business?
People want to read stories, not brochures. Copywriting is really an art, and storytelling is probably the biggest factor in successful copywriting.
I highly suggest you subscribe to Brian Clark’s excellent blog at CopyBlogger.com to learn how to tell your story better.

Jim, Thanx for the great reminder about storytelling. I JUST re-did my "about" page. I think you'll like it! You motivator, you!Joel Libava<a href="http://thefranchiseking.typepad.com/about.html” target=”_blank”>http://thefranchiseking.typepad.com/about.html
This kind of success stories helps very much to share your parenting success story with other parents! I loved your story. Thanks for that!!
Hi,
Nice blog Jim, I just found it through copyblogger.com
It is only recently I have come to realise that your right, we do all have story.
Admitedly I never realised I did, and actually I guess its my story that I am now building a business on !
What I am doing Jim is basically build a blog and blog about how I am building my blog. Everytime I learn a new thing I blog about it to enable others to benefit.
It is working really well and I am getting amazing feedback from my visitors.
So do I agree with what you have said ? Hell Yeah !
People need to find their story, it could change a lot in your life and career as it has in mine !
Of course I am at an advantage now as I have just got myself a mentor so I see my business going from strength to strength now
But hey, thats another part of my story right ?!
Thanks for the great information Jim
I'll be here more often, thanks
Dean
