At Web2.0 conference a couple weeks ago, Jeremiah Owyang said about companies doing social media programs, "If you aren't failing sometimes, you aren't doing it right."
People don't care if a company makes a mistake or errs or fails in some way. They care about how a company handles it. And if you build in contingencies for possible failures than it's unlikely that the failure will put you out of business.

It's common to see failures before success. I think learning from why we failed in those times will spur people to improve, make changes and then finally succeed.
