Just getting back on track after a long trip to Vegas for the Affiliate Summit. I was the emcee of the event. Normally, I’d just blog my experience, but I’m only doing videos now, so you’ll have to wait until next week to hear what I have to say in video form.

For now, here’s a video of the opening reminders that I produced and showed to the room of about 1,000 people Monday morning… right before I introduced Jason Calacanis. Hopefully somebody has that video as well so I can put that up. The point of this video was to wake up the crowd and get a few reminders thrown in, plus to make sure that everyone knows this is a fun event. Enjoy.

Business Around A Lifestyle

The world changed on 9/11 in so many different ways. Since that day, there has been a major shift happening in the way people think and live their lives. Sure, many people still chase the dollar as their ultimate goal. However, many more people have begun to realize that the world could, well, end tomorrow.

That's why people are choosing to pursue a business around a lifestyle, instead of a lifestyle controlled by their business. It makes sense, right? If the world was going to end tomorrow, would you still try to live your life in a way you never wanted to?

Take a look around you and you'll see that this shift to becoming a lifestyle entrepreneur is being adopted by more and more people every day. Some of those people are falling into it because they have been laid off from their jobs and are literally forced into it. Some of those people just figure out a way to make it happen because of the "end of the world" thinking mentioned above.

Nicely done – good use of the BMG. I would have loved to hear a voice over for each point though in that kind of BMG voice they used on that track – “Affiliate Summit Tip Number One, ready: go” – that would have been funny :D

Good stuff. Wish I had seen this before Summit, I would have tried out the Shawn & Missy mask lol

Daniel, you’re right, the voice over would have made it better. I did plan on doing that, but just ran out of time. The name of the BMG song is called “time to start”.
