Alex Tew’s Pixelotto A Rip Off?

Tonight I got an email from Peter who owns The Quest For The Million site (aff link). He claims in his blog that Alex Tew has ripped off his idea and created Pixelotto.

It’s basically what we came out with in the summer of 2006. The big difference is that Alex’s site looks cheaper, has no affiliate program, and not even a blog. How lame can you get? So here’s the deal. We’re cheaper, we were first, and we have an affiliate program.

Perhaps Peter, but what you need to do right now is block and tackle and get your word out. You can’t stop him from having a similar idea, and your “proof” is not worth anything legally, unless of course you have some kind of patented trademark on the process?

If I was you right now, I’d be using his name to help sell your idea to the press. There’s a story here? Keep it positive though. Nobody wants to help out some angry person.

Note: Being original is not always the only key to success. We put up AwesomeMillion.com and we were completely original and first, etc… But we had competitors (sorta) pop up in less than 4 weeks. None as good though. I always want competition, because it makes me work harder to make my product better.

Business Around A Lifestyle

The world changed on 9/11 in so many different ways. Since that day, there has been a major shift happening in the way people think and live their lives. Sure, many people still chase the dollar as their ultimate goal. However, many more people have begun to realize that the world could, well, end tomorrow.

That's why people are choosing to pursue a business around a lifestyle, instead of a lifestyle controlled by their business. It makes sense, right? If the world was going to end tomorrow, would you still try to live your life in a way you never wanted to?

Take a look around you and you'll see that this shift to becoming a lifestyle entrepreneur is being adopted by more and more people every day. Some of those people are falling into it because they have been laid off from their jobs and are literally forced into it. Some of those people just figure out a way to make it happen because of the "end of the world" thinking mentioned above.

Good points Jim. Yes we’re not out to get Alex or bother with legal stuff. Ideas are ideas. At first I was totally depressed this AM, but now we’re thinking of turning it into a race somehow and will try to keep it all positive.

A PayPerHit scheme? Hits from people who could care less about buying someones wares. Yes, now that is cost effective advertising, for Alex. It’s like paying a bunch of wino’s to mow your yard.

    Hi,

I just wanted to get in touch to mention our newly launched website, TurfJam. Its an experiment in the worth of online advertising spaces.

Following on from Internet legends such as the Million Dollar Homepage, TurfJam is an advertising opportunity for marketeers and businesses.. however, the difference here is that each spot on TurfJam is being auctioned off. There are 100 pieces of “turf”, being released 10 at a time. As each auction runs and completes we will be updating and comparing the winning cost of each piece (all are the same size) to see how the price changes over time, and in relation to the number of pieces of turf left.

If you would like more information please visit http://www.turfjam.com or get in touch with any questions.

    Regards,
