- Blogs, Buzz & A Dash Of Cuban…
- Goal(s):
- Selling out all tickets from all Magnolia Pictures movies, for every
release, consistently.
- To generate buzz and discussion and content about each movie (and the
Mag brand) through blogs and our own community.
- To engage viewers and turn them into customer evangelists instead of
just movie watchers.
- To build our own vault of user generated content specific to our
products, owned by us.

- A Preface…
- What’s the number one thing that all bloggers want?
- Attention. If you feed the blog ego, you’ve won the blog/buzz battle.
- “Over 100k blogs are added to Technorati daily” Dave Sifry
- The market is there…
- We’ve already figured out the details of selling tickets online with
affiliate marketing and bloggers. The tech part of the equation is done,
but it doesn’t solve our big problem, which is to create a
funnel/network/community of bloggers who will promote each movie,
consistently.
- How are we going to build that up?...

|
- We create the following, introducing:
- The Magnolia
- Pictures Movie Club
- http://www.magnoliapictures.magnify.net
- (Check link, it’s real)
- What is it? In essence it’s a glorified affiliate (blogger) community
full of members (affiliates)
- It will be a fully branded extension of the MagPictures.com site that
allows for live movie streaming (trailers), as well as user generated
video reviews.

|
- The Magnolia
- Pictures Movie Club
- Benefits for MagPictures:
- A easy to maintain video community center to push trailers and any other
videos, completely archived forever
- A built in community tool that allows members to come together to
discuss your brand and products
- Including the ability for members to upload their own video “reviews”
and to discuss each video clip

|
- The Magnolia
- Pictures Movie Club
- Benefits for Members:
- The opportunity to help promote each movie and make $$$ for selling
tickets
- The opportunity to be part of a community to share reviews
- Most Importantly: The opportunity to get attention to themselves
|

|
- Our biggest asset is buzz. If we can build enough buzz around a concept
or marketing campaign, we can jump start the community.
- So what’s the campaign and how do we do that?
- Campaign:
- Magnolia Pictures & Mark Cuban are revolutionizing the movie ticket
industry. How?
- #1 – The creation of an online movie club that puts the movie watchers
in the role of reviewer through online video.
- #2 – No more walk-up ticket sales for Mag Pictures movies. All movie
tickets will be sold online. (in all honesty, we can still sell at the
theatre direct but it doesn’t matter, nobody will notice)
- Bold? Yes, but buzz worthy…

|

|
- How are we gonna sell this? Here’s where you (Mark) come in.
- Step 1 – Launch the community, with the affiliate program (members).
BlogKits will do this with Mag.
- Step 2 – A blog at BlogMaverick announcing the plan
“Themes: It’s time to take on big budget hollywood… Let’s put
viewers in the drivers seat as reviewers… Underdog type of message…
We’re changing the industry…”
- The press alone from this (done right) will generate tons of buzz and
generate member signups, and we’re off to the races.

|
- Ok, but WHY is this going to work?
- Reason #1 – Because Mark said so. Let’s face it, you have reach, and the
buzz you can make will go far to bloggers and beyond into traditional
media.
- Reason #2 – Because bloggers want attention, and you’re going to promise
to give it to them through the promotion of the Mag Pictures
club/content. I suggest that you promise (on your blog) to feature (from
time to time) club members video reviews, as well as links out to blogs
(members) that perform (ticket sales) well.
- Dangling the carrot works. Bloggers will fall in line in droves if they
think that they can get your attention.
