Do You Have A Mentor?

Make money teaching a class at Prfessor.com

Do you have a mentor? You know, someone who you can turn to for advice? You should. The video below is about why you should have a mentor, and a bit of advice on how you can go about getting one. FYI, I’m not sure Mike Arrington would be a good mentor, I just used his name in the video for some reason.

I think this is something that should be brought up more often. Mentoring used to be something that was much more common that it is now. I've been fortunate enough to have a few mentors along the way in my life and most recently a more "formal" mentoring relationship with someone here locally. It's an amazing way to learn and grow. I highly recommend it.

  • Hey Jim, thanks for stopping by my site.

    1) Your video lengths have been just fine for me as a viewer. I find that the content dictates the length. I don't think you have become verbose at all.

    2) I've had several mentors in my life. And I agree with Chrispian. This is an important aspect of individual and professional growth that most people seem to overlook.

My mentors have helped me in all aspects of life, be it professional, personal, or in my life of music performance and production. I don't think I would have ever moved forward I had not involved these people in my life.

Great advise! I'm new to this site but like it so far.
  • Jim,

I think that finding a mentor is one of the most important things a person can do. Most businesses are too complicated to learn by yourself. You can save yourself a lot of time be having someone you can ask questions too.

    Great advice.

  • I've always considered you a Mentor to me Jim, especially in all matters blogging related.

I've got mentors in other areas of life as well, business, spiritual, parenting.

It's important to have folks in your life who have "been there.. done that" that you can lean on for guidance, support and advice.

    Take care,

    Wade

Mentoring and being mentored was part of my early business education. My father taught me that principle very early on. In the blogging, affiliate marketing, new media path I'm on now, I'd be nowhere without mentors. I agree with all you say Jim.
