I’ve been working non-stop for the last week or so, day and night. It just occured to me that I need a break, and a beer. Otherwise I face another panic attack like a few weeks ago.
My beer consumption drastically dropped over 5-years ago when my wife got pregnant with our first child. The second child followed 3-years later, and here we are, over 5-years later and I don’t drink hardly ever.
You know, sometimes you just have to take a break and relax and kick back. I’m going upstairs now and busting open a cold Bass. Join me?

What’s your favorite beer? Prefer another beverage, even non-alcoholic? Tell me what you like to have when you relax by leaving a comment below.

I’m not much of a drinker so I’ll have a sprite, thanks for the offer.

For anxiety I walk 30 minutes every day and meditate 20 minutes on most days.
Enjoy your beer.
Hey man – Thanks for the invite! I would love to have a beer with you, but the ol' heart doctor has forbidden it – not to mention my real boss (the wife) :)
I would, however, be permitted to have a glass of wine, while you partake of the fizzy beverage, if you'll still have me ;-)
My dog’s name is Schaefer if that tells you anything.
I made a deal with the devil and in return I had to name either my first dog or my first child Schaefer.
Thank God I got a dog first.
I was also known as the “Schaefer Pope” in college because, as a Religion major, I was constantly preaching the virtues of drinking Schaefer with a 12 pack box on my head.
Ah, college.
Not sure what my favorite beer now is, but back in school it was a Leinie (see leinie.com) and a pickled egg with jalapenos. Of course I went to an engineering college in an isolated part of the upper peninsula of Michigan and may have been a little insane.
I’m not a drinker either. I indulge in sodas here and there, especially Pepsi when given the choice. But like you, having kids changed my habits. I dropped my soda consumption down to near zero with my first pregnancy and never really picked up my old college habit after.
@45, Sprite it is. Beer was good, thanks.
@Sam, Schaefer? Why not go for Red, White and Blue, or Goebel? Funny story, I’d like to see that at your next gonzo trip.
@Mark, Beer is good for the heart, and thanks for joining me.
@Jeff, Did you drink the beer listening to the yoopers? Don’t ask me how I know that, but I have a tape of them. Good stuff.
@Stephanie, I stopped drinking pop years and years ago as well, but I break down once a month for a coke. Did you ever have milk and Pepsi like Lavern Defazio?
