Passion

The other day I posted about how to do a successful Webinar. One of the things we didn’t have time to cover in that podcast was passion, and how important it is for you to show it in your voice.

I do an enormous amount of online teaching as well as teleseminars, podcasts, Webinars, videos and online teaching for the University of San Francisco Online. If there’s one thing I pride myself on is my passion for the topic at hand, and specifically how I convey it through my voice when I’m speaking. On stage in person too.

When I’m talking to someone on a class who’s all the way on the other side of the world, I have to make sure they can feel my passion through my voice. Believe me, it resonates if done right. Students and prospective clients can literally feel it in the tone of my voice, and because of that, I come off as someone they’re more likely to listen to closely, and someone who isn’t just trying to sell them something.

You’re passionate about something. I know you are. What is it? Why aren’t you taking that passion and communicating it to your audience in a way that they can literally feel it oozing out of you? You can’t do that in text. Why not try podcasting, or Webinars, or teleseminars or video?

Here’s a good example of a Webinar I did this week. It’s about a half hour long. See if you can feel the passion in my voice.

Business Around A Lifestyle

The world changed on 9/11 in so many different ways. Since that day, there has been a major shift happening in the way people think and live their lives. Sure, many people still chase the dollar as their ultimate goal. However, many more people have begun to realize that the world could, well, end tomorrow.

That's why people are choosing to pursue a business around a lifestyle, instead of a lifestyle controlled by their business. It makes sense, right? If the world was going to end tomorrow, would you still try to live your life in a way you never wanted to?

Take a look around you and you'll see that this shift to becoming a lifestyle entrepreneur is being adopted by more and more people every day. Some of those people are falling into it because they have been laid off from their jobs and are literally forced into it. Some of those people just figure out a way to make it happen because of the "end of the world" thinking mentioned above.

    Hi,
People who are passionate work harder, do better work and more motivated than those who aren't. Needless to say they also enjoy their work more.80% of the population has been thinking that following their passions is a luxury, that they can't do what they love because they have to earn a living and support their family. These are the people the current economic crisis will hit the hardest.
