Practice Makes Perfect

Time for yet another learning how to play the ukulele update. The truth is, I don’t have that much time to practice, so I’m not getting that much better. So bear with me. In today’s video I show you some more chords I’ve learned. I’m still having fun, I just wish I had more time.

Remember, the whole point of this was to see if I could learn how to play by watching videos on Youtube or learning from free information found through Google. So far, so good. But slow without practice.

Business Around A Lifestyle

The world changed on 9/11 in so many different ways. Since that day, there has been a major shift happening in the way people think and live their lives. Sure, many people still chase the dollar as their ultimate goal. However, many more people have begun to realize that the world could, well, end tomorrow.

That's why people are choosing to pursue a business around a lifestyle, instead of a lifestyle controlled by their business. It makes sense, right? If the world was going to end tomorrow, would you still try to live your life in a way you never wanted to?

Take a look around you and you'll see that this shift to becoming a lifestyle entrepreneur is being adopted by more and more people every day. Some of those people are falling into it because they have been laid off from their jobs and are literally forced into it. Some of those people just figure out a way to make it happen because of the "end of the world" thinking mentioned above.

One of my favorite gifts I ever received was a ukelele when I was about 15. I'd failed at piano lessons, but I was an avid voice student so I wanted something to play to accompany myself. Taught myself from the manual that came with it. I even played and sang in the school talent show. Unfortunately, there was one string that always slipped and I had to constantly tune it. I got really good at that! But, I ended up singing a capella for the talent show! And, of course, my classmates, I think, thought I was weird, but that was pretty much standard anyway!

At any rate and at the very least, ukeleles are wonderful personal, low-tech, accessible entertainment.

    Keep playing and have fun!
