Share Your Tip: Best Advice To A Successful Vegas Trade Show Experience

As you may or may not know, my two favorite trade shows are Affiliate Summit & Blogworld. Each of them takes places in Vegas once a year. (Affiliate Summit has two yearly events, one in Vegas always and one on the East coast). Blogworld is next week, are you coming?

So I go to Vegas at least twice a year to a trade show. Because of that, I’ve learned a few lessens and come up with a few tips for others about how to best travel and spend your time while you’re in town.

Business Around A Lifestyle

The world changed on 9/11 in so many different ways. Since that day, there has been a major shift happening in the way people think and live their lives. Sure, many people still chase the dollar as their ultimate goal. However, many more people have begun to realize that the world could, well, end tomorrow.

That's why people are choosing to pursue a business around a lifestyle, instead of a lifestyle controlled by their business. It makes sense, right? If the world was going to end tomorrow, would you still try to live your life in a way you never wanted to?

Take a look around you and you'll see that this shift to becoming a lifestyle entrepreneur is being adopted by more and more people every day. Some of those people are falling into it because they have been laid off from their jobs and are literally forced into it. Some of those people just figure out a way to make it happen because of the "end of the world" thinking mentioned above.

Don't let the city get the best of you – in the end, you are there for business right? If your competitor is staying out "networking" until 5 am – get a competitive advantage by retiring at a reasonable hour, reviewing and take notes on your discussions from the day and charting your follow up.

Also – if you will be drinking – alternate booze and a bottled water – Vegas is horribly dehydrating. You'll thank yourself in the morning.
