Storytelling With Frog & Toad

Writing blogs, or doing videos, or audio, or anything we do in marketing is storytelling. Today I read from one of my favorite children’s books ‘Frog and Toad’ to demonstrate that storytelling is what we should all aspire to be better at.

The copyblogger will tell you this over and over. He tells stories, and he tells them well. Look at other successful people online. Most of them are master storytellers. You should work on it.

  • Okay but, um...where's the story? ;)
  • You're watching it, every day, in video form. It's called the Daily Flip. :)

I think the question is that the video is not loading
  • Really? The video loads just fine for me.
  • Very nice story - it was a story within a story within a story within....uh, yeah, you get the point. It's just like when you're in between two big mirrors. And that's so true - that we all need to tell stories. When we stop telling stories, our blogs (and all that other stuff..) bore our audience to death and dry up!

Think back to your best high school teachers - if you had any that really kept you interested, I bet it's because they, too, were telling stories!

Hey - what happened to our comments (yours and mine, Jim) on that Finance Tips post? They're still on Disqus, just not here...
  • I'm not sure Lisa. Disqus is still pretty new to me.
  • I joined disqus just so I could say...
Yo, Jim! The video isn't even there to click on.
And I love a good story, too.
  • Sure. As soon as I post this, the video popped up!
Great story. I'm buyin' the book.
