We have a similar, but slightly altered view that takes this just a step further. In our conversation marketing practice we believe that people don't actually care about products or brands, they care about fulfilling their own wants and needs. We guide our clients to interact with the entire market conversation (on and offline conversation locations and influencers) but it's the same idea that you're focusing on in this video of why people go online.

We look at why people look to influencers and market conversation participants (and the market conversation in general) for information--because they, as you've stated it in the video, people have a problem to solve or want to be entertained (those people that Listen--look to the market conversation for information--do so to help guide them on how to fulfill wants and needs.)
