Joel, that’s a great blog you have going there, good stuff! Are you using tubemogul.com to upload to multiple sources? Is your blip.tv rss feed submited to itunes?

You’re off to a great start. The hardest part is starting.

Jim, I’m thrilled to see this post because I promised myself that if I manage to find a way to attend and/or cover the Obama Clinton debate at CSU, I would buy myself a flip whatever it is and figure it out!

Jim – I don’t know much about video blogging – but I came across your site thanks to Scoble.

What I do know is that the long pause telling me I could advertise here nearly caused me to stop watching – your intro kept me there – but when the intro sequence started and I realised this was going to take a while I stopped watching.

The only reason I am taking the time to pass this on is that if you are trying to promote yourself as an expert on Video blogging you ought to understand more about audiences.

You are not a TV show and do not have an audience who are sat on a sofa – your audience are in front of a PC and doing other things – time is precious. You may have created a great intro but it is not needed on the web where you have to constantly keep people’s attention.

Anyway you probably know all this – so sorry if I’m teaching you to suck eggs.

I’s ask Steve for his opinion – you’ll notice he doesn’t do the ad spot and then the intro!!

    Hi Al,

Thanks for the feedback. The world of video and monetization/marketing is still very new. I’m testing and getting feedback as I go, so I thank you for chiming in.

I will say though, that if the content wasn’t worth watching, then I completely agree with you. So my challenge is to make entertaining and informative content that you will enjoy watching.

    Video Tips For Blogging
A free way to promote your business? Unfortunately, many business owners believe that there is no such thing. If by chance it is believed, there are many who would automatically assume that it was a wasted effort.
