You Fail Because You’re Scared

This post is not about you, or is it? I filmed this video (below) because I know what I’m talking about. I’ve been there. I’ve been too scared to try new marketing tactics. Too scared to start new businesses. In general, too scared to win and be successful. But I got over it.

When you’re scared to win, you fail. If you take anything away from what I say in this video, I hope it’s that you realize that failure is going to happen. It happens to everyone. You will fail. Big f-ing deal. Everyone does. Just learn from it and try again. You will never, ever be successful until you give up on your fear of failure. I hope this video inspires you.   • It is so funny. I stopped reading your blog the day you started making videos, because I just hated to watch videos. I never thought that people actually enjoy this kind of communication. This evening I was attracted by one of your headlines, I saw the video and it's about one hour now since I stopped working because I'm watching your videos.

    Regarding fear, you are right, this is the enemy we have to face with every decision that we make. I had my biggest successes with things I really didn't care about, so I was not afraid to fail. When I was too careful, I failed most of the times.

  • Awesome video today. Fear of making mistakes is a big one too. For every five ideas you implement, four will flop. Much of the new media marketing techniques are too new to know if they work or not. You can't be afraid if it's not perfect either. Make it 80% perfect and then fix it as it goes.

    Yesterday, I was at a Women's Biz Award Luncheon where the motivational speaker screamed, "What are you waiting for? When is ENOUGH, enough?" It was very powerful, because it wasn't soft or nurturing like you'd expect. Meaning: the only way to change is to take action!
