YouTube Clone Scripts: Make Your Own YouTube

If you do a search on Google for “youtube clone“, you get a ton of results of, well, YouTube clone scripts. They range from $27, to $100 and more. But which one is actually the best?

Have you researched this? Share your thoughts in the comments below. I’m looking to find the best of the best.

Why do I want a YouTube clone script? I don’t really. I just wanted to see what was out there. However, I can see value in the possibility of building my own niche video network, can’t you? :)

Here’s a few I found…

Business Around A Lifestyle

The world changed on 9/11 in so many different ways. Since that day, there has been a major shift happening in the way people think and live their lives. Sure, many people still chase the dollar as their ultimate goal. However, many more people have begun to realize that the world could, well, end tomorrow.

That's why people are choosing to pursue a business around a lifestyle, instead of a lifestyle controlled by their business. It makes sense, right? If the world was going to end tomorrow, would you still try to live your life in a way you never wanted to?

Take a look around you and you'll see that this shift to becoming a lifestyle entrepreneur is being adopted by more and more people every day. Some of those people are falling into it because they have been laid off from their jobs and are literally forced into it. Some of those people just figure out a way to make it happen because of the "end of the world" thinking mentioned above.

Anyone who is thinking of purchasing a script from alstrasoft, make sure you research their customer support record.

    Here is a good example:

Yeh, the bandwidth is a problem. I’ve been thinking about starting my own video site, though. I’ve bookmarked this post…

    There is a solution: http://www.phpsugar.com

You don’t have to host any videos if you use php melody. I’ve successfully used PHP Melody in a few projects and they were all worth it.

Let me know what you think

    Hi,
We can even go one step further and create a clone of YouTube. All the scripts for that are easily findable on the internet. But doing the same thing as YouTube is not a solution to success. There is only one way for me. Do not try to do what has already been done by those better money-backed players. Find a niche! Targeting a niche, whether it is about a special subject or a community, is the key of success. This is already too hard to find videos about something that interest us within the millions hosted by YouTube. By focussing on a specific content, you will create a community of users of your own, with a place they will gladly share around them as it will rapidly be theirs.
So what niche to choose? I have compiled a list of already 400 of YouTube-like sites with their niche on http://www.ilikesharingvideos.com/video-sharing-sites/en/
If you’re interested in video sharing, you should give it an eye.
    Cheers

I have used MediaShare Suite and MyOwnVideosite.
I like the security of hosting the MediaShare Suite PHP script on my own hosted site, but not being very adept at PHP, my site was hacked within two months.
I have not had any problems with the hosted solution MyOwnVideoSite offers, however everyday I worry that they will pull an Eyespot see ya and leave me without a site.
I really think we are still in the infant stages of web 2.0. All of these sites are going to have to come up with realistic business plans as venture capital vanishes. They are going to have to gear themselves to mobil technology such as the I-phone, advertising overlays for their players like Veeple offers and a system for targeting the banner ads to the users profile.
