Internet Marketing from the Real Experts Book Review

I love books like this, because they offer such a wide array of tips, tricks and information you can’t get usually in just one book. You’re going to love this book because it’s all over the place with good information about online marketing. I pretty much know every author in this book, and can vouch for their knowledge/skill. Get this book!

Hey, I’m in this book, and it’s good, and not just because I’m in it. Here’s my video book review of it (below).

Oh yeah, go get a free sub at Feedfront.com while you’re at it. It’s FREE!

Why Haven’t You Started Your Live Ustream Show Yet?

I wanted to start doing a weekly Web show, so I put out a call for a co-host in Cleveland and got Jeremy Borger to show up. Below is the live on tape (recording) of the show we did earlier today. We talk about Twitter, and the Superbowl trends and other geeky related things on the Internets.

The reason I’m showing you this is to inspire you. It’s literally this easy to do. No script, no fancy lights, no fancy equipment. I took my Mac laptop and put it on a stool. Started Ustream.tv, clicked “start broadcast” and that’s it. Live to the Internet, and it records too.

You can be doing this. You SHOULD be doing this. Do something, anything! If you know a lot about Tikis, well, then get your tiki collection out and talk about them on camera. Then put that video recording on your tiki blog, and then send a message out to your Twitter friends you have a new video about antique tikis. Then announce it on Facebook, etc…

I could go on and on. The point is. If you don’t try it… your competitor will. Just try it. When you do, send me your video so I can check it out.

Your Marketing & Sales Team Sucks

A bit of a rant today on the Daily Flip. Going all Feldman on ya. Basically, your marketing sucks, and your sales team too. Especially ad networks. Watch the video below to get my entire case.

I’m nicer in the video I think. Honestly though, I have to call you all out for bad marketing and even worse sales. Who in the ad network space besides one or two is actually doing anything innovative and attention-getting (booth babes do not count). Just a handful of you. The rest of you guys. Nada. Zip. Uninspiring marketing and sales teams that don’t know how to really sell.

Actually, I don’t really blame sales as much. I’ve been doing sales support as a marketer for years and years (yes, for an ad network once), and I can tell you that I consider it my job as the marketer to give the sales team the right things to say and show. This isn’t happening now/today.

You marketing sucks. Agree? Or disagree, leave a comment. Watch for challenge at end of video.

Online Video, Quality Of Content Is Most Important

When producing online videos, remember that it’s not the quality of the video you’re producing, but rather, the quality of the content you’re producing. Your viewers care about one thing, and that is getting helpful or fun information from your videos.

Stop worrying about the equipment you need or don’t need to make good videos, and start thinking about what your viewers expect, which is good quality information, regardless of video quality. Then start making videos!

I Want To Be Gary Vaynerchuk

Forget the wine. I know nothing about wine. I don’t drink wine. Don’t really even like it unless its got a screw cap and I can buy it at the grocery store every once in a while. So forget wine…

I want to be Gary Vaynerchuk because…

Well, I don’t really want to be him, but I want to be able to entertain like him. I want to be able to engage my readers and viewers like he does. I want to be able to get them to participate and crave my content like he does.

It’s not the wine that makes Gary’s show good… it’s Gary.

It’s his passion for what he’s talking about. It’s his gusto in his delivery and his charm. Ok, this is starting to sound kinda creepy, sorry. I assure you, my “love” for Gary is purely an admiration for all of the things mentioned above. Also his marketing skills. His website is well done and he’s using social media VERY well to drive his brand. I’m learning a lot.

So Gary, thanks for the inspiration as I’m getting ready to do my own daily show soon, and I’m glad to have met you in Vegas. Oh yeah, and thanks for doing the sake episode.

I’ve added the Winelibrary.tv widget to my sidebar so I’m hoping to win the guest seat on Gary’s show. But does he really want someone on there who doesn’t drink wine and who has never tasted anything more than a two buck chuck?

Could be interesting… just saying. Besides, the Browns will have beaten the Jets by that date?

Here’s me interviewing Gary in Vegas last month.

Internet Video Marketing – The Next Step For Search

It’s very interesting to see how search is evolving these days. We have the whole paid links controversy heating things up again, as always, plus much more debate about the search industry as well. It’s never ending.

What’s more interesting to me is how search has evolved and continues to do so. The latest evolution comes in the form of online video, or, Internet video marketing, which is the process of producing high-quality video content for the purpose of generating leads, sales and publicity.

Here’s a video demo of what Internet video marketing is all about and how it can help your business.
